Operating principle of the twin-rotor pump
The twin three-lobe rotor positive-displacement pump operates as shown in the diagram opposite.
Two identical rotors (1) are driven in opposite directions by two gears in a separate housing (sealed in an oil bath) located next to the pump. The material to be pumped only makes half a turn (arrows F) before exiting through the discharge port.
The seal is made at point (E), without friction between the two rotors, due to a very close clearance. The closing effect (arrows R) prevents any fluid and solids from flowing back towards the inlet or being trapped between the two rotors.
This feature makes it possible to pump materials containing solids, which pass easily through the wide pockets (2) formed between the rotors and the pump body.
The stainless steel body and mechanism in a sealed housing with a food-grade oil bath guarantee total sealing and excellent durability. Thanks to its DN120, 150 or more discharge and its power of 7.5 to 15 kW, it is well suited to the requirements of the wine industry.
